2007 continues
Another ride that we participated in was a new one. Southern Iowa counties along with Terrible's Casino raised awareness of Southern Iowa and raised money for Operation First Response. The ride covered some interesting places in various small towns in several counties. The ride ended up at the casino with an auction, food and awards. They gave us Casino bucks to use as well. check out www.operationfirstresponse.org for more info!
Melissa Reed got a new (to her) 1800 Goldwing Trike. Jerry Degan got a new Harley this year. Gene Mullen got a touring Harley and has been gone riding ever since! Stan and Tammy have joined us in riding some this year, but had some time off due to visual difficulties.
May started our weekly Monday night rides. We left from the Shoppers parking lot at 6:30 p.m. and rode to our supper destination taking the long route. We found some good places to eat and a few we may not visit again. The rides and visiting with our GWTA family is always fun. We really enjoyed pizza baked in cast iron skillets at the Rumor Mill in St Charles, but it burned down the first part of 2008, not a good start for them.
