Memorial weekend is always a ride and sometimes campout somewhere. We rode to middle Missouri and because of the rain and hard to find a camp site, stayed in a motel. The weather held out for us.
Jerry and Jan invited us to their house for a wonderful meal and games in the back yard. We thank them for their hospitality.
June was a combination of Region C reunion at Galesburg, Illinois with a theme of Never Ending Story. We had several attend and Dennis and Donna were able to camp. We had fun and they did a great job with our Chapter H display of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. Steve and Connie, Bill and Dee, Rick and Patti and George and Peggy all left from there and began vacation to the Upper Peninsula Michigan and visiting Mackinac Island. An interesting place that does not allow motorized vehicles; so you walk, use horses or bicycle. It has a fort with quite a history and filled with shops and food. It was an enjoyable day. It was extremely hot in the 90's which is unusual for that time of year, so they said. We did find out that their state bird must be the mosquito :)
July was just as busy. Dennis and Donna Pittman are back riding and go with us to Goldrush XX. Bill and Dee, Rick and Patti, Stan and Tammi are also there. We were joined by Ben and Sherrill Ress at the camp grounds. It was a birthday party and we had a great time. We checked out a ghost town. Truly, we were the only ones there were us and the prairie dogs, and the ..ghosts! We enjoyed the ride but again, the weather was extremely hot! There was a lot to see and do at the convention and some time to ride. We even made it to the dance. The girls found it interesting riding the back of the bike in skirts! :) Region C did great and brought home some special awards.
August was our Iowa State Funfest at Winterset. Friday evening was a hotdog cookout. Saturday was a great ride, then back to campgrounds for games, auction, food and friendship. Again, we had a great time!
